Abstract From the Canadian patent

A differential array instrument for determining selected parameters of an earth formation surrounding a borehole, including an instrument mandrel carrying a single source electrode for injecting an electrical current of a predetermined value into the formation surrounding the borehole, and an array of a plurality of measurement electrodes uniformly and vertically spaced from said source electrode along the instrument mandrel. A predetermined group of the uniformly and vertically spacedelectrodes are adapted to derive first and second difference potentials between the predetermined group of electrodes, wherein successive ones of a plurality of thepredetermined group of selected measuring …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 13, 1994 and granted December 22, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 13, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 13, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
