In a water ring type vacuum pump, an impeller (6) having a plurality of blades (6a) is rotatably provided in a pump chamber (3) communicating with an air inlet (lb) and an air outlet (1d), and a water inlet (1a) for feeding sealing water to a center portion of the pump chamber is further provided. Sealing water that has moved to a peripheral wall portion (3a) of the pump chamber (3) is flowed back to a center portion (3b) of the pump chamber (3) . By this arrangement, the sealability of sealing water can be improved and the sealing water can be saved in amount.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 26, 1994 and granted May 2, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 26, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 26, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
