A process is disclosed for controlling the attitude of a three-axis stabilized spinning spacecraft, in order to maintain the spinning direction in inertial space and to limit the nutation amplitude. For that purpose the deviation of the spinning direction from the set orientation, as well as the nutation amplitude are constantly checked for exceeding predetermined set values (? d? dN) by separate dead zone control elements. However regulating steps for reducing nutation may also be triggered when the spinning direction is within predetermined admissible limits. A corresponding attitude control device has at least one attitude sensor for measuring the angular deviation with respect to at …

Why it's free to use
- Filed September 4, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 4, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 4, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
