Abstract From the Canadian patent

A measurement arrangement is useful for controlling the attitude of a threeaxis stabilized satellite equipped with sun-sensors for determining the orientation of, the sun (sun vector) with respect to a satellite-fixed coordinate system as , well as, with speed gyroscopes for detecting components of the satellite speed of rotation, vector .omega.. It is necessary that the measurement range of the sun-sensors cover the, round angle in a preselectable plane (for example XY plane) and perpendicularly, thereto a limited angular range of maximum ~.alpha.2max on both sides of the plane. In a ddition, only an integrating speed gyroscope carrying out measurements in a single measurement axis …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 4, 1992 and granted February 19, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended September 4, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 4, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
