Hot melt adhesives which include at least 5 % of a thermoplastic elastomer block copolymer having a Vicat softening I temperature of at least 60 °C and a melting point of at least 100 °C, have improved thermal resistance of properties and can be applied with conventional hot melt application equipment at temperatures of between about 149°C and about 204 °C. The adhesives are particularly suited to use in above-the-belt locations in automobile interiors and in furniture banding. Especially suitable thermoplastic elastomers are polyether-polyester and patyether-polyamide segmented polymers with melting points above 149 °C. Hot melt adhesives based on these thermoplastic elastomsrs can …

Why it's free to use
- Filed June 29, 1993 and granted February 27, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 29, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 29, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
