A toner has a narrow toner particle size distribution and particles of deformed spherical shape. There is also a simple manufacturing method for the toner and an imaging apparatus using the same. The toner particles are characterized in having an average diameter of d (d is in a range of 4-15 µm) and that the volumetric fraction of the particles having a diameter in a range of d ~ 0.2d is equal to or exceeds 90% of the total volume of the particles. Further when the specific, surface area of the toner per 1 cm3 determined by the BET method is expressed by A (m2/g) and the specific gravity of the particles is expressed by D (g/cm3), the A of the particles is in a range expressed by the …

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 8, 1994 and granted September 28, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended February 8, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 8, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
