Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention concerns the steering of an electro-hydraulic braking apparatus for an axle system where each wheel is equipped with a brake activated by brake pedals by a servo valve electronically controlled by a master unit which measures information on compression of the pedals. With this invention when the airplane is taxiing at low speed braking for the first group of wheels is organized separately from that of the second group with pressure variation controlled by depression of the brake pedals for each group of wheels over the entire active range of brake pedal depression. One of the two laws is a continuously increasing function that results in a braking torque based on low brake …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 31, 1994 and granted November 11, 1997. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 31, 2014.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 31, 2016.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
