This invention relates to an ax holder for safely storing axes. Because the holder is screwed into a wall it holds the ax vertically and with the sharp part towards the wall thus eliminating any potential for accidental cuts when approaching the ax. This holder is designed to easily insert the sharp part of the ax and to disengage it using the method of withdrawing the steel cable that holds the head of the ax compressed with the flat part towards the wall and with the other hand, hold the handle of the ax to withdraw it from or insert into to the holder.

Why it's free to use
- Filed January 31, 1994 and granted February 15, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 31, 2014.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 31, 2016.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
