A simulcast system capable of synchronizing and maintaining synchronization of a plurality of base sites (1602 1604, 1606, 1608). The base sites (1602 1604, 1606, 1608) are cap-, able of transmitting data at substantially the same time. A generator generates time marks ( 1708) at a predetermined time period(T). A data divider (1812) divides packets to be interposed between at least a pair of time marks. The data packets (1704) and time marks (1708) are transmitted to the base sites. The base sites include base site receivers (1603 1605, 1607, 1609), for receiving the data packets and time marks and clocks (1611, 1613, 1615, 1617) for measuring the time (T) between each pair of time marks. …

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 25, 1993 and granted May 13, 1997. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 25, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 25, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
