Abstract From the Canadian patent

A system (100) and method for providing automatic system deregistration for any incorrectly registered radios (110) is described. The system (100) and method further provides for an automatic reregistration request to be sent in order to guarantee that any valid radios (112) that have the same radio identification information in the system as the incorrectly registered radio (110) to become reregistered. By requesting any radio having the same ID to reregister back with the system (100), a loss of communication to that radio is thereby prevented.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 3, 1992 and granted September 14, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended August 3, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 3, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
