Abstract From the Canadian patent

Abstract of the Disclosure, The invention relates to the control of multistage fluid separation processes and systems. The processes and systems employ at least one recycle compressor or pump means in conjunction with their associated controlling means to separate a fluid mixture in an efficient manner during off demand or turndown conditions. The operation of at least one recycle compressor or pump means is controlled so as to maintain the pressure in the permeate side or sides at a set value, thus maintaining the desired pressure ratio across the multistage membrane and obtain the desired, reduced power consumption during off demand or turn-down conditions.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 15, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 15, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 15, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
