Acrylate or methacrylate compositions are provided for coating porous surfaces, wherein the composition comprises a) 90-99.9 % acrylate and/or methacrylate monomers, and b) 0.1 to 5 % wax. The wax in these compositions is soluble in the acrylate and/or methacrylate monomers when the monomers are in a liquid state. The wax is incompatible with a cured coating formed from the polymerization of the acrylate and/or methacrylate monomers. The compositions cure to provide a non-tacky surface in excellent short time periods as compared to prior similarly constituted acrylate or methacrylate compositions.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 15, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 15, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 15, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
