This invention is a catalytic element for use in the catalytic oxidation of ammonia or ammonia and methane. The element comprises a foraminous structure fabricated from a material consisting essentially of a metal selected from the group consisting of platinum, rhodium, palladium and alloys of mixtures thereof characterized by (a) a novel configuration whereby the initial product of the formula: curve to flat ratio (C/F) multiplied by mesh count (N) and wire diameter (d), for said element is greater than at least about 0.08 and (b) where, for a given hydrogen throughput the, conversion efficiency is a function of the curve to flat ratio (C/F), wire diameter (d) and mesh count (N) …

Why it's free to use
- Filed June 10, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 10, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 10, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
