Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention concerns a copolymer composed of ethylene oxide and of at least one substituted oxirane with a crosslinkable function. The copolymer includes ethylene oxide units -O-CH2-CHR- units in which R is a substitute including a crosslinkable reactive function by free radicals and in which R may be different from one unit to another and optionally -O-CH2-CHR' units in which R' is a substitute comprising no crosslinkable reactive function by free radicals in which R' may be different from one unit to another. It is characterised by an excellent polymolecularity index I=Mp/Mn and a statistical distribution of the various monomer units. The copolymer is prepared by an anionic …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 9, 1993 and granted February 26, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 9, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 9, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
