Abstract From the Canadian patent

2109936 9222846 PCTABScor01, This invention presents a process for the production of a lens with a given variable refraction index by fixing together several parts, at least some of them have a variable refraction index. The realization of the desired refraction index of the parts can be achieved by compressing dielectric material of a first shape into its final shape or by a doping or a mixing process respectively. Outer parts which extend to the outer surface of the lens to be produced, have a pyramid-like shape with a pointed or truncated apex respectively. In the first case the apexes of the outer parts meet in the symmetry point of said lens; in the latter case a center part is used …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 25, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 25, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 25, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
