A novel process has been found wherein electrostatic dissipative properties are imparted to recycled thermoplastics. The discarded waste plastics are divided and soaked in a salt bath for a predetermined amount of time. The treated recycled thermoplastics have a resistivity in the range of approximately 105 to approximately 1012 Ohms per square. The invention also includes the treated thermoplastic having electrostatic dissipative properties which can be reprocessed into various useful objects.

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 28, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 28, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 28, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
