Abstract From the Canadian patent

A modified bacterial protein-based extract comprising a mixture of acidic bacterial polyanions having a molecular weight of 10,000-1,000,000 and an isoelectric point of 2.5-5.5 wherein the sum, of the constituent amino acids represents at least 50 wt % of said extract. Said protein extract is prepared by cultivating bacteria in an aqueous medium, subjecting the bacterial suspension to alkaline extraction and purifying the protein extract. Why it's free to use

  • Filed February 3, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 3, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 3, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
