Abstract From the Canadian patent

A durable energy-conserving window glass (50) is produced with very low scattering of visible light. A typical structure (100) consists of soda-lime glass (50) coated successively with alumina then fluorine-doped tin oxide (60) and finally with bismuth silicate glass (90). The whole structure (100) is heated so that the bismuth silicate glass (90) softens and flows to form a smooth surface.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 24, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 24, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 24, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
