Abstract From the Canadian patent

In order that safety systems, such as distress beacon emitters carried on board an aircraft can be triggered both in the case of a very short violent shock or impact and during a longer but less violent shock or impact, a shock or impact detector is proposed which takes into account both the amplitude and the dutation of a possible shock or impact. This detector comprises an electromagnetic transducer (50) whose coil supplies a pulse signal having an amplitude and duration proportional to the amplitude and to the duration of the shock. An integrator (80) makes it possible to obtain an integrated signal whose amplitude is proportional both to the amplitude and the duration of the shock. A …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 7, 1993 and granted April 22, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended September 7, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 7, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
