A device for producing a tensile force by means of a pressurized medium comprises an expansion chamber (1) a flexible, tube (3) having at least one connection (2) for the pressurized medium and a net (4) which completely surrounds the flexible tube (3) or the expansion chamber (1). The meshes (5) of the net (4) are compressed when the net is extended radially. To compensate irregularities in the flexible tube or resultant local pressure peaks which arise when the flexible tube is extended to, effectively reduce the friction, and hence the resultant abrasion or wear, between the net and the flexible tube and to ensure simple, economical manufacture, the meshes (5) are made from cords (6) …

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 6, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 6, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 6, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
