A dynamical system analyser, (10) incorporates a computer (22) to perform a singular value decom-, position of a time series of signals from a nonlinear (possibly chaotic), dynamical system (14). Relatively low-noise singular vectors from the, decomposition are loaded into a finite impulse response filter (34). The time series is formed into Takens' vectors each of which is pro-, jected onto each of the singular vectors by the filter (34). Each Takens', vector thereby provides the co-ordinates of a respective point on a tra-, jectory of the system (14) in a phase space. A heuristic processor (44) is, used to transform delayed co-ordinates by QR decomposition and, least squares fitting so …

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 3, 1992 and granted February 11, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 3, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 3, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
