A method for managing work progress of separate work jobs in a machine shop having a plurality of separate machining operations comprises applying to a work order document a row of coloured labels with each coloured associated with a respective one of the machining operations. The operator of an operation can therefore readily select jobs that require that operation by simple visual observation. Once that operation is effected the label is removedand available for the next operation which is readily apparent due to the coloured label. The selection of the colours associated with the various operations is effected so that ready recollection is available due to associatedby alliteration.

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 12, 1993 and granted April 20, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 12, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 12, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
