Abstract From the Canadian patent

A device for the reverse-stranding of cabling elements of a fixed guide disk spaced from a stranding disk which can rotate around its axis. Both disks have axial holes for routing the cabling elements. The device also has a fixed point for joining the stranded cabling elements at the stranding point. For the proper guidance of the cabling elements, at least one filament-shaped nonelastic carrier, element is placed between the guide disk and the stranding disk, with at least one holding element at a distance from the guide disk on one side, and from the stranding disk on, the other. Each holding element has axial holes through which the cabling elements are routed.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 10, 1993 and granted October 21, 1997. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended August 10, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 10, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
