The present invention is a stabilized resonant tag circuit (10) for use as an electronic article surveillance tag. The tag has a flexible substantially planar dielectric substrate (12) having conductors (20, 22) positioned on either side,.at least one of the conductors including an inductor (24). The tag is stabilized by a flexible, substantially planar, tear-resistant substantially, vapor impermeable polymeric film (26 27) adhered to and covering, at least one of the conductors and the substrate. The film provides a vapor barrier which minimizes the effects of body and article detuning on the circuit and promotes the secured integrity of the tag. The tag circuit may include an intended …

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 18, 1992 and granted October 6, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 18, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 18, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
