Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention concerns an industrial ultrasound part control method of the type said to be consistent time reversal after emission of an unfocused ultrasound beam and reception of returned echo to re-emit this echo signal after reversal of its distribution over time. According to the invention the part to be examined travels in a continuous rotary movement while the ultrasound transducer travels in a continuous step by step linear movement where each movement corresponds to a whole number of revolutions of the part.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 16, 1993 and granted February 19, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 16, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 16, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
