Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a jacket for a liquid-tight packaging of cardboard composite material coated with plastics and having a longitudinal seam. To obtain a straight edge when an edge strip (4) of the layer disposed inside the seam is folded over firstly, composite material (7) is removed in a narrow inner zone limited, to the fold, along the folding line of the edge strip (4) to be folded over. Such removal can be performed precisely using, inexpensive apparatus. This creates the precondition for the production of a straight edge at the folding place of the foldedover edge strip (4). Fig. 1 is intended for the Abstract.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 9, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 9, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 9, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
