The proposal is for a process for producing powder from stabilized zirconium oxide which is suitable for pressing mouldings and subsequent sintering to provide high-density ceramic materials. To this end, an aqueous solution of a zirconium salt containing an additive is converted into droplets. The droplet formed are solidified by the action, of ammonia, into gel particles which are then washed dewatered, dried and calcined.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 6, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 6, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 6, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
