Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a method for preparing polyolefins. In the polymerization, a procatalyst composition is being used, which has been prepared by contacting MgCI2 a lower alcohol, a titanium , compound and a phthalic acid ester. The polyolefin is given the adequate coarseness by using a pracatalyst of the said type, which has been prepared by carrying out a transesterification between the lower alcohol and the phthalic acid ester and by selecting dioctyl phthalate (DOP) as phthalic acid ester.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 23, 1992 and granted May 27, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 23, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 23, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
