A method for coating non-conductors with carbon particles, comprising the following stages: a) treatment with a copper-containing solution; b) coating a nonconductor with an aqueous solution of gelatine or polyacrylate; c) rinsing with water; d) contacting with a dispersion containing carbon, a wetting agent and an ionogenic metal compound; e) rinsing with water. This method selectively produces electrically conducting surfaces, and is suitable for the direct metallization of non-conductors. After being coated with carbon the non-, conductor can be electroplated directly. The use of coppercontaining solutions in the method is also described.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 15, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 15, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 15, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
