A method for improved, slurry-phase bioremediatian treatment of organic sludge and mix-, tures of organic sludge and organics-contaminated soils by dissolv-, ing the contaminants into an aqueous phase and microbially degrad-, ing same. A high solids slurry of the sludge and soils is formed with, water and an active bio-slurry consisting of large populations of ac-, climated hydrocarbon-utilizing bacteria and small amounts of bi-, odegradation residue. The slurry is passed through a plurality of in-, series bioreactors (2-6) in each of which a low hydraulic shear is, maintained to promote the development of a large population of, microorganisms that will form flocculent suspensions. Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 24, 1992 and granted January 1, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended September 24, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 24, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
