Method and device for monitoring of the composition of a flowing gas. An oscillation of sound frequency is applied to the gas flow pipe downstream and upstream and the travel, times of the monitoring sound over a certain measurement distance downstream and upstream are detected. The sound speed or a quantity representing same is determined on the basis of said travel times. This speed is mainly dependent on the average molecular weight of the gas to be monitored. The temperature of the flowing gas is measured and on the, basis of the measurement of temperature the sound speed that, has been reduced to a certain reference temperature TO is determined from the formula c0 = c . ?(T0/T) which …

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 12, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 12, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 12, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
