Abstract From the Canadian patent

A more accurate voltage-to-time and then time-tovoltage conversion is accomplished by tailoring the amplitude versus time characteristics of the pulses generated in the voltage-to-time conversion. One embodiment includes applying a ramped voltage supply to an amplifier coupled between the voltage/time converter and the time/voltage converter. The ramped supply is arranged to condition the amplitude of a portion of respective pulses to include a slope similar to the ramped voltage applied to the time/voltage converter. This tends to effect a more accurate response in the time/voltage converter.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed February 1, 1992 and granted July 10, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended February 1, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 1, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
