Abstract From the Canadian patent

An improved conductivity based servo-proportioning system (10, 40) for hemodialysis machines. The servo-proportioning system calculates the actual conductivity contributions of the individual chemical components of the concentrate being utilized to, determine the conductivity set points. An Acidified and Bicarb operation is being performed, then the servo-proportioning system calculates a conductivity set point at both an intermediate and final stage of the servo-proportioning system. If only acetate is being performed, then only the acetate individual chemical components are calculated. If the Na and/or Bicarb concentrations are to be varied, then the conductivity is calculated for the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 12, 1992 and granted January 7, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 12, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 12, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
