An electrically conductive product of settable plastic material reinforced with non-conductive fibers is formed by drawing tows of non-conductive fibers through a bath of resin containing conductive fibers. Use of conductive fibers having a mean aspect ratio exceeding 100 permits the weight of conductive fibers to be under 2 %. Expulsion of resin during molding of a settable resin reinforced with fibers is prevented by pinching of the tows of fibers at least at one end of a die. This permits higher pressures to be used during molding.

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 30, 1992 and granted December 15, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 30, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 30, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
