An electrochemical cell comprises a housing having an electrochemical circuit system therein including a cathode, an anode and an electrolyte solution in contact with the anode and the cathode. A conductive diaphragm is arranged in the top portion of the housing for cutting off current flow between the cathode and the anode, and is adapted for quick movement between a first stable conducting position and a second stable non-conducting position upon direct application of gas pressure generated in the electrochemical circuit system in excess of a first predetermined pressure. The conductive diaphragm is unstable between the first and the second stable positions. A conductive lead extends from …

Why it's free to use
- Filed June 25, 1993 and granted April 7, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 25, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 25, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
