Production of a lithium film suitable for use as the anode of a polymer electrolyte storage cell by rolling a strip of lithium between two forming rollers. At the outlet the film adheres to one of the rollers up to a given point on the circumference of that roller forming an angle of approximately 90 degrees with the point of contact between the two rollers. A level of tension is then applied that is sufficient but in any case lower than the elastic limit of lithium rolling the film to remove it from the surface of the roller and normally so that the given point moves to an intermediate position between 90 degrees and the point of contact for example, approximately 45 degrees. The product …

Why it's free to use
- Filed July 2, 1993 and granted May 18, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended July 2, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 2, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
