Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention relates to an apparatus for and a method of generating heat by utilizing the Pons-Fleischmann effect. In a conventional apparatus of this kind, an anode and a cathode are dipped in an electrolyte, and an external power source is used for causing a current to flow between the anode and the cathode. In the present invention, a relation among the anode, the electrolyte and the cathode is made similar to that in a primary cell, and thus excess heat based upon the Pons-Fleischmann effect can be generated without using the external power source. Accordingly the number, of ports making up the apparatus is reduced.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 21, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 21, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 21, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
