Coating campositions containing aqueous dispersion of higher molecular weight epoxy resin are produced by advancing the molecular weight of an aqueous dispersion of a low molecular weight epoxy resin having a number average molecular weight between about 360 and 2 000. The water dispersed low molecular weight epoxy resins are advanced in molecular weight by coreaction with a diphenol at temperatures above about 105°C and at pressures above about 34 475 N/m2 over atmospheric (5 psig) to produce the aqueous dispersed high molecular weight epoxy resin. The aqueous dispersed high molecular weight epoxy resin can be further copolymerized with ethylenic monomers, if desired to, produce an acrylic …

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 27, 1993 and granted February 22, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 27, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 27, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
