A process for catalytic wet air oxidation. This process for treatment of wastewater to oxidize organic compounds such as, phenols, dioxins or furans, comprises the use of hydrogen peroxide in the presence of an insoluble metal catalyst on an insoluble support. The insoluble metal catalyst can be a compound of iron copper, manganese or other transition metal. The process provides for complete oxidation of the organic compounds and avoids partial oxidation products.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 25, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 25, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 25, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
