Dear Mr. Hester:, In regard to your letter of June 25th 1993, I have included:, Abstract;, For volume reduction of garbage buildings are stationery on site and are very expensive to operate (cost in the millions to build). The material has to be brought to the site. This invention is a portable shredder-compactor, it is self-propelled and can substantially reduce costs for both the smaller and larger municipalities for volume reduction and compaction of garbage. Material would be dumped into this machine where cans bottles, and, containers, etc. would be crushed thereby reducing its volume. It is a very viable and economical operation.

Why it's free to use
- Filed July 9, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 9, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 9, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
