Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method for attaching a grooved precured tread 12 to a tire casing 10 and an apparatus to facilitate the attachment is described. A precured rubber tread 12 is applied to the tire casing 10 having a cushion gum layer 16 disposed between them. An envelope system 18 is placed over the tread 12 and casing 10 combination. The envelope system 18 includes a flexible membrane 18 and an air venting rigid body 40. The use of the rigid body 40 permits the evacuation of air from under the envelope 18 without requiring an air permeable membrane to be attached over the tread 12.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 25, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 25, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 25, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
