A new class of macromolecular monomers (hereinafter called "macromonomers")comprises the polymerized product of at least one of an ethenylarene and a conjugated diene monomer the product having a terminal omega-alkenyl group of at least four carbon atoms. The novel macromonomer can be copolymerized with ethylene and alpha-olefin monomers to form graft copolymers having pendant side-chains. The graft copolymers are useful as coating and molding compositions. The macromonomers can be useful as coatings on chromotographic supports for analytical and preparative separation of chemical mixtures.

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 14, 1991 and granted January 20, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 14, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 14, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
