A fire sprinkler monitoring system includes a plurality of fire sprinkler heads; each of the fire sprinkler heads have a fusible plug element and a heat sensing element. The fusible plug element is ejectable to permit the flow of liquid when a preset temperature threshold is reached. A remote sensing unit is coupled to the heat sensing element. The remote sensing unit is preset to issue a cautionary alarm whenever the heat sensed by the heat sensing element is greater than normal ambient room temperature thereby providing time to investigate a possible fire condition prior to the threshold temperature of the fusible plug element being reached.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 11, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 11, 2013.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 11, 2015.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
