Abstract From the Canadian patent

Retaining the correct shape is difficult when two or more elongate units are obtained from a dried tree-trunk and joined together. This difficulty is avoided by using damp timber which is sawn into units, two or more units being joined together using a glue that requires moisture in order to cure. Units joined together are tied tightly before the drying process.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 6, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 6, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 6, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
