Abstract From the Canadian patent

In a method for channel scanning by the receiver of a teleaction system, the squelch signal of the HF part of the receiver is scanned for the presence of an HF signal on the tuned-in channel, and only after that depending, on the outcome of this scanning are further switching or, evaluation processes of the receiver initiated. As a result, the channel search conventionally employed is speeded up substantially by scanning the received telegram addresses without requiring additional effort or expense, since the squelch signal is already available in any case in the conventionally used standard components from which HF receivers are assembled.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 30, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 30, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 30, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
