Disclosed is a method that relates to the measurement of determinants related to the in-vivo induction of spermidine/ spermine Nl-acetyltransferase (SSAT), subsequent to treatment with polyamine analogs that induce SSAT such as bis-ethyl spermine analogs, in tumor types responsive to this class of analogs. The method comprises the measurement of one or more SSAT-specific determinants that include SSAT enzyme activity SSAT enzyme, protein, and SSAT m-RNA transcripts. Alternatively other, determinants related to the SSAT induction may be measured. Such determinants include SSAT co-factor acetylCoenzyme A and SSAT, products Nl-acetylspermidineand Nl-acetylspermine. Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 19, 1993. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 19, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 19, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
