Novel unsaturated peroxyketals useful as molecular weight regulators in polymerization reactions are disclosed. Also disclosed are polymerization process employing these novel unsaturated peroxyketals as molecular weight regulators, polymers and oligomers made by this process and articles of manufacture comprising one or more polymers or oligomers made by this process. These molecular weight regulating peroxyketals provide the ability to introduce an epoxy functionality to the oligomer or polymer as well as an additional functionality, in a manner which gives a higher monomer conversion and less by-products than with comparable chain transfer regulators.

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 16, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 16, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 16, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
