Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention pertains to an apparatus and method for measuring throwing power of electroplating solutions. The apparatus is easy to use and gives reproducible measurements. The apparatus emulates the performance of a conventional Haring Blum cell. The major disadvantage of the standard Haring Blum cell is its limited aility to vary the solution mass transport thus limiting its, applicability to very low current density applications. Furthermore even under, low-mass transport conditions non-uniform solution distribution is experienced leading to erroneous interpretation. This invention permits the study of throwing power of electroplating solutions under a whole variety of solution …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 30, 1993 and granted February 10, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 30, 2013.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 30, 2015.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
