A composition of matter which comprises Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) and Interleukin-4 (IL-4) has been disclosed This, composition inhibited the growth of human breast cancer cells human vulvar , carcinoma cells and human histiocytic lymphoma cells a dose-dependent manner. The growth characteristics of human breast cancer cells were minimally affected when exposed to TNF or IL-4 alone. However, the combination of these two cytokines together inhibited the growth of these cells in a dose-dependent manner. Additionally, interferon-gamma (IFN-g) caused a further potentiation of the antiproliferative effects of the TNF and IL-4 composition.

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 1, 1991 and granted December 3, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 1, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 1, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
