Cationic charged semihydrophobic polyethersulfone (CSHP) membranes having hydrophilic and semihydrophobic properties are provided, as wall as preparation of the same by post-treatment. Typically as an illustration, a microporus hydrophilic polyethersulfone membrane substrate which contains non-teachable polymeric additive having functional groups is treated in an alkaline solution for simultaneous or sequential reaction with 1) a primary charge modifying agent which is an epichlorohydrin modified polyamine and 2) a secondary , polymeric charge modifying agent containing a positive charge (or for reaction with the primary charge modifying agent alone); then baked until cured at elevated …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 11, 1991 and granted December 21, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended September 11, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 11, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
